From Grays to Gravesend
Join us on RRC’s inaugural fundraising ride - 13 June 2026
Refugee Ride Collective founder Patrick Turpin, is planning a fundraising endurance challenge for June 2026, and he wants YOU to come too…
On Saturday 13 June 2026, I will be riding 310km (192 miles) in one day, from Tilbury in Essex to Gravesend in Kent - all in aid of Refugee Ride Collective - and you’re invited to join me.
You can choose to tackle the full 310km loop-the-loop, or a shorter 160km semi-circle that will take you along a North-westerly curve all the way to Windsor.
Forget the M25, this is the only true way to circumnavigate our city, along quiet roads and country lanes, cutting through all four of London’s road-cycling heartlands.
See below for planned route, FAQs, and registration form.

Riders will be encouraged to adopt a pace that’s comfortable for them. I’ll most likely be riding avg. 20-25km/h. However, if you want to form your own breakaway, fill your boots.
Hopefully we’ll have a large enough group overall that smaller groups naturally form around individuals’ most comfortable pace.

That’s totally up to you! There is no specific fundraising goal or obligation here, but we would suggest that you aim to raise around £500.
If you’re not in a position to raise funds, a voluntary donation for taking part would be much appreciated.

I don’t know yet!
I would expect at least 20 riders will join, but it might just be me on my own… rolling off the train at the crack of dawn and apprehensively heading North West. -
The sun will set around 9.20pm - so whichever route you choose please bear that in mind.
Please consider the fact that you may be riding the final section in the dark, and will need appropriate equipment to do so (urban bike lights you use in London will not be suitable on these lanes).
Feel free to email me if you need any advice.
